Thiruvananthapuram – A pregnant woman was found dead by hanging. Lakshmi (Ammu 19) died at home in forest in Varkala Peret. The body of the woman was found hanging from the window wire in her husband’s house in Varkala Manambur.
The incident happened around 4 pm on Sunday. Her husband Kiran’s family members were also staying in that house. Kiran is an auto driver. Both have been married for 11 months. It was a love marriage. Lakshmi was one and a half months pregnant.
She was a final year BA Literature student. The initial information is that there was a dispute with her husband and family regarding her further studies and Lakshmi took her own life due to depression.
A police team led by ASP Deepak Dhankar reached the spot and collected scientific evidence. The Kadaikkavoor police completed the post-mortem procedures at Paripally Medical College in the presence of the RDO and handed over the body to the relatives.
