Puttingal fireworks tragedy, Trial proceedings will begin today

Kollam: The Kollam Paravoor Puttingal firework tragedy case is going into trial proceedings today. All 51 accused will appear in the Kollam Sessions Court today. The action comes before the trial is transferred to a special court. On April 10, 2016, the firework match took place in which 110 people died.

656 people were injured in the man-made disaster. To get the gold cup and cash award, the group turned around and fired fireworks in violation of the prohibitory order of the District Collector. There are 59 accused in the 10,000-page charge sheet submitted by the crime branch. 44 of them were charged with murder.

There are 1417 witnesses, 1611 documents and 376 witnesses in the case. Shinyamol, who was the district collector, and 30 doctors, including those from Delhi AIIMS, are on the witness list. After the High Court decides on the trial court judge, the trial in the special court will begin immediately.
