Sabarimala temple opens for annual Mandala-Makaravilakku pilgrimage, 70,000 Devotees Book Darshan via Virtual Queue System

Pathanamthitta: Today marks the first day of the Malayalam month of Vrishchikam. Devotees have flocked to Sabarimala for darshan of Lord Ayyappam. Under the spiritual guidance of Thantri Kandar Rajeevaru, newly-appointed Melshanti Arun Namboothiri opened the temple doors at 3 AM this morning. A total of 70,000 devotees have booked for darshan through the online system today.

The Sabarimala temple, which opened at 3 AM, will close at 1 PM in the afternoon. The temple will reopen at 3 PM and close again at 11 PM . Considering the anticipated rush, additional police personnel have been deployed at Pamba and Sannidhanam. Devaswom Minister V.N. Vasavan, who is staying at Sannidhanam, has scheduled a review meeting with officials at 8:30 AM.
