Street Dog Bites German Woman at Kozhikode Railway Station

A German woman was bitten by a street dog at Kozhikode Railway Station. The incident occurred yesterday at 4:20 PM on the third platform of the station. The woman, Astrid Hückel (60), was part of a group of 14 people traveling from Kozhikode to Kochi, and she was bitten on her right leg by the street dog.

The attack took place while the group was waiting to board the Kasaragod-Thiruvananthapuram Vande Bharat Express (20633) to Kochi. The dog bit her when it was accidentally stepped on. Immediately after the incident, the police arrived at the scene under the leadership of RPF ASI C. Ranjith.

She was taken to the nearby RPF center, where her wound was cleaned with soap and bandaged, and primary first aid was administered. Although the doctor advised her to go to the Government Medical College Hospital for further treatment, the group chose to continue their journey to Kochi. Railway police later confirmed that they disembarked at Thrissur station, but there were no reports of them seeking medical treatment. The police also stated that they could not locate them afterward.
