Suresh Gopi Moves High Court Against Magistrate Court’s Order in Vehicle Tax Evasion Case

Union Minister Suresh Gopi has filed an appeal in the High Court against the order of the Magistrate Court rejecting the discharge petition in the case of vehicle tax evasion by registering a vehicle in Puducherry. Suresh Gopi demanded that the order of the Ernakulam Magistrate Court be quashed. The CJM court held that the case of tax evasion by registering the vehicle in Puducherry cannot be quashed.

The Ernakulam ACJM court rejected the plea filed by Suresh Gopi demanding that the actor face trial and quash the case. The High Court was approached against this. The Ernakulam Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court ruled that the Puducherry vehicle registration case cannot be cancelled.

The case is that a luxury car was registered at a fake address in Puducherry and taxes of lakhs due in Kerala were evaded. As a result of this, there was a tax loss of 30 lakh rupees, according to the charge sheet of the crime branch. The Crime Branch investigation also found that the Puducherry address where the vehicle was registered was fake.
