Suresh Gopi, appointed Thrissur MP who has taken over as Union Minister, will reach Kannur today. Suresh Gopi will reach Kannur at eleven o’clock in the morning and visit Madai Kav, Rajarajeswara Temple, Parashinikadav Muthappan Madapura. Later, Marar payyambalam smrithi kudeeram in Kannur will visit and pay floral tributes. Then Suresh Gopi, who is going to Kalyashery, will visit the house of former chief minister and CPM leader EK Nayanar and visit his wife Sarada Teacher. Later will visit Kotiyur temple also. Later return to Thrissur.
Suresh Gopi will be associated with Minister of Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Hardeep Singh Puri of Petroleum and Natural Gas. Suresh Gopi was accompanied by Hardeep Singh Puri when he took charge. Department Secretaries also participated in the function. Before taking charge, he had called the church leaders and sought their blessings.
Suresh Gopi was sworn in as minister last Sunday evening. He won from Thrissur with a majority of over 70,000 votes. Earlier there were reports that Suresh Gopi would become a cabinet minister.
