The government suffered a setback in the petition against Sisa Thomas, Kerala High Court dismissed plea.

Kochi: Thiruvananthapuram: The Supreme Court rejected the petition filed by the government against the former vice chancellor of the University of Technology, Sisa Thomas. The Supreme Court said that government employees should not be made scapegoats in the war between the governor and the state. The action of the court is without even hearing the detailed argument.

The Pinarayi government demanded that Sisa Thomas took charge as the VC of KTU University without seeking the permission of the state government and for this reason disciplinary action should be taken against him. But Sisa Thomas approached the High Court against this and got a favorable verdict.

With this, the government approached the Supreme Court. But the Supreme Court dismissed the petition when it became clear that the Pinarayi government’s dispute with the governor was behind the move against Sisa Thomas. The Administrative Tribunal and the Kerala High Court had earlier ruled in favor of Sisa Thomas. Today’s decision was a setback for the state government, which appealed to the Supreme Court.
