The High Court sought an explanation from the government regarding the Thrissur Pooram riots. An explanation has been sought in the petition demanding a judicial inquiry.
The court directed that an explanation be given as to whether the case has been registered and whether a judicial inquiry is under consideration. BJP leader B Gopalakrishnan filed the petition.
The Chief Minister had ordered the transfer of City Police Commissioner Ankit Asokan and Assistant Commissioner Sudarshan in the Thrissur Pooram incident. The government took action with the permission of the Election Commission.
