Objects that appear to be treasure have been found in a rubber plantation in Chemagai, Kannur. They were found in a private rubber plantation near Parippayi Government LP School.
They thought it was a bomb and threw it away. But when the jar broke, a pile of treasure came out. 17 pearl beads, 13 gold medallions, 4 medallions believed to be part of a cashew necklace, 5 antique rings, a set of earrings and several silver coins.
They were informed to panchayat and handed over to the police. The pot containing the recovered items was produced in court. It is also doubtful whether these are gold-plated. The objects are being examined by the Archeology Department.
