Idukki: A two-year-old girl’s body was doused with petrol and set on fire following a family dispute. His relative Santosh, a resident of Kanjikuzhi, was arrested. Grandmother Annakutty (57) was also burnt while trying to save her little daughter Diya.
They are living in Painav Paatidia Colony. Both the injuries are not serious. The baby has 15 percent burns and Annakutty has 30 percent burns. Both were shifted to Kottayam Medical College Hospital after initial treatment at Idukki Medical College Hospital.
Santosh is the husband of Annakutty’s daughter. The injured Diya is Santosh’s wife’s brother’s child. The police said that the attack was due to a family problem.
