US Military Eliminates Syrian Al-Qaeda Leader

The US military has eliminated the leader of Hurras al-Din, a group associated with Syrian al-Qaeda. According to US officials, Mohammad Yusuf Siyah Tahlah was killed in an airstrike conducted in northwestern Syria.

The airstrike took place on February 23, targeting a vehicle in which Mohammad Yusuf Siyah was traveling. Footage released by the US military shows the moment an aerial attack struck the moving car as it drove through an open plain.

“On February 23, US Central Command (CENTCOM) conducted an airstrike in northwestern Syria, killing Mohammad Yusuf Siyah Tahlah, the leader of Hurras al-Din (HaD), an al-Qaeda-affiliated group. This operation is part of CENTCOM’s commitment to eliminating terrorist threats,” a US Central Command spokesperson stated.

Additionally, on February 21, another US airstrike targeted and killed senior Hurras al-Din leader Waseem Tahsin Bairaqdar.
