A wildfire has once again sparked concern in the US, with flames spreading across 5,000 acres in just two hours, north of Los Angeles. The strong dry winds are proving to be a major challenge for rescue operations, which are still ongoing.
Efforts are underway to rescue 19,000 people trapped in areas affected by the wildfire, while 16,000 people have been issued evacuation warnings. Wildfires have been spreading across Los Angeles and California for weeks. The fire has spread to seven locations in Los Angeles, with two large fires under control, according to fire officials. Over 100,000 people have already been evacuated.
US President Donald Trump is scheduled to visit Los Angeles to assess the situation. Due to the dry winds, much of Southern California has been declared a fire risk zone. The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection reported that 1,000 firefighters have been deployed in Southern California to combat the fires.
