Youth Congress Calls for Legal Action Against K K Latika Amid ‘Kafir’ Screenshot Controversy

Youth Congress has demanded a case against former MLA and CPIM leader KK Latika, who circulated the ‘kafir’ screen shot on social media. The Youth Congress filed a complaint with the DGP demanding that a case be filed under Sections 295A and 295A of the IT Act. The complainant is Youth Congress state general secretary VP Dulkhif.

Yesterday, KK Latika removed the controversial ‘kafir’ post from Facebook. Later the Facebook profile was also locked. The government had filed a report in the High Court that the kafir post that appeared on Facebook during the Lok Sabha elections was not made by League worker Muhammad Kasim.

The UDF had come forward against Latika’s failure to remove the screenshot from her Facebook despite the police confirming that the post was fake. The UDF leaders had demanded that a case be filed against Latika. After this, the screenshot was withdrawn and the Facebook account was locked.
