Kozhikode: A 12-year-old boy admitted to the hospital due to health problems has symptoms of amoebic encephalitis. A native of Farooq College Irumuliparamp was admitted to the hospital. The child was bathing in Achamkulam near Farooq College. The child’s saliva was sent for testing. The health workers have collected the information of those who bathed in this pool.
Meanwhile, it was confirmed that the girl died of amoebic encephalitis while undergoing treatment in Kozhikode. Dakshina (13), daughter of Ragesh Babu and Dhanya of Kannur , died on June 12. The disease was confirmed when the test results came. The child first sought treatment at a private hospital in Kannur Chala due to headache and vomiting. Later, as his health deteriorated, he was shifted to a private hospital in Kozhikode.
The child was taking a bath in the pool when he went on a study trip from school to Munnar. The primary conclusion is that this is the cause of the disease. The child, who had traveled on January 28, got symptoms on May 8.
Last month, a child from Malappuram also died due to amoebic encephalitis. The deceased is Fadwa (5), daughter of Hassan Kutti and Fasna, a native of Malappuram Munniyoor Kaliyattamuk in the west. He was undergoing treatment at Kozhikode Medical College Hospital.
