15 Dead, 60 Injured in Bengal Train Accident

15 killed in train accident in West Bengal About 60 people were injured. Many people are trapped inside the bogies. A goods train was hit by the Kanchenjunga Express train. The accident happened in Darjeeling district around 9 am on Monday. Many people have been injured.

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced that the rescue operation has started on a war-time basis. Quoting an official, news agency PTI reported that the 13174 Kanchenjunga Express from Agartala collided with a goods train near New Jalpaiguri station near Rangapani. Two coaches of the Kanchenjunga Express derailed in the accident. Doctors and emergency response teams have reached the spot, Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said.
