Kochi: CITU workers beat up the driver for alleging a reduction of Rs 20 in the delivery fee. A driver at the BPCL LPG bottling plant in Ambalamugal was brutally beaten up. It was alleged that there was a reduction of Rs 20 in the down payment.
Driver Sreekumar is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kochi. Urinary tract is also severely injured. An argument related to unloading the load resulted in the violence. The driver informed that he was paid by the agency and hence he could not pay more.
Not listening to this, the CITU workers brutally beat up the driver. CCTV footage of the beating has been released. Following this, the drivers started a lightning strike demanding job protection. When they went to find the reason for the strike, the information about the beating came to light.
