Manikandan was murdered on June 12, 2004. Nasrulla, the accused in the case, went absconding during the trial. He is caught after many years. Nasrullah is also the 12th accused in the case of murder of Youth Congress leader Punna Naushad.
The court had sentenced Khalil, the first accused, to life imprisonment in the Manikandan murder case. Manikandan was killed on June 12, 2004.
