ADM Naveen Babu’s Death; High Court will hear the plea filed by the family seeking a CBI probe today

Kochi: The police initially concluded that the death of Naveen Babu, the ADM of Kannur, was a suicide. However, his wife, Manjusha, filed a petition in the High Court yesterday, raising doubts about whether his death was a murder.

The High Court will consider Manjusha’s plea for a CBI investigation today. The petition has been listed before a bench headed by Justice Bechu Kurian Thomas. Manjusha, Naveen Babu’s wife, is the petitioner. In her petition, Manjusha pointed out that the police investigation has been unsatisfactory and expressed doubt that justice would be served. She also raised concerns about whether Naveen’s death was a murder.

The key issue now is the stance the state government, Chief Minister, and the CPI(M) will take, given their public support for Naveen’s family. If the government approves a CBI investigation, the process will likely become smoother. Otherwise, the government’s claim of being “with Naveen’s family” will come under significant scrutiny.
