Israel has declared a ceasefire in Lebanon, but not before carrying out a final round of intense airstrikes. Before halting the fire, Israel targeted and destroyed Hezbollah’s weapons storage depots, banks holding Hezbollah’s assets, gold storage vaults, bunkers, and training camps.
The ceasefire between Hezbollah and Israel came into effect at 4 a.m. However, just before the ceasefire took place, Israel bombed the Hezbollah stronghold in Dahieh, Lebanon, a major Hezbollah base. Dahieh housed 20 Hezbollah centers, which were destroyed in an unexpected airstrike.
Israel’s attack targeted 20 Hezbollah sites in the Dahieh stronghold in southern Beirut, and multiple casualties have been reported. Additionally, for the first time in 24 years, Israeli troops reached and captured a part of the Litani River, according to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). The military reported that eight fighter jets were used in a rapid and extensive airstrike. The targeted buildings were reportedly used by Hezbollah for management and funding purposes.
