Kannur: The charge sheet in the abetment of suicide case related to the death of ADM Naveen Babu will be submitted today. The charge sheet will be filed in the Kannur Judicial Magistrate First Class Court. Former District Panchayat President P. P. Divya has been named as the accused in the case. The charge sheet also states that there is no evidence to prove that Naveen Babu accepted bribes.
According to the charge sheet, P. P. Divya’s speech at a farewell event was the reason behind Naveen Babu’s suicide. It is also mentioned that Divya attended the event without an invitation and that the allegations raised by Prashanth were merely accusations. The charge sheet, which comes 166 days after the incident, is over 400 pages long and divided into three sections.
A total of 82 witnesses have given statements, including Naveen Babu’s wife Manju and their children. Employees at the Collectorate have reportedly provided statements against P. P. Divya.
On October 15, Naveen Babu was found hanging at his residence in Pallikkunnu. His family had approached the High Court seeking a CBI investigation, but after an unfavorable verdict, they are now preparing to move the Supreme Court.
