Following corruption allegations against former Kannur District Panchayat President P.P. Divya, ADM Naveen Babu’s death has sparked a high-profile investigation. A special police team, led by Kannur District Police Chief Ajith Kumar, is probing the incident, with oversight by DIG Kannur Range and Northern Region IG. While Divya is a primary suspect, she has not yet been arrested, and her anticipatory bail plea is scheduled for a verdict in Thalassery Principal Sessions Court on the 29th.
The Revenue Department has completed an internal inquiry, with Joint Commissioner A. Geetha submitting a report to the government. Police also questioned Prasanth’s brother-in-law, who raised the initial bribery allegations. Currently, the case is under Kannur Town Police, and members of the new investigative team include officers Sreejith Koderi, Sanal Kumar, SI Navya Saji, Reshma, and Cyber Cell ASI Sreejith.
