Pathanamthitta:Kannur Collector Arun K. Vijayan has apologized to the family of the deceased ADM Naveen Babu, expressing regret over the incidents that occurred during the farewell ceremony. The letter was handed over to Naveen Babu’s family by the Pathanamthitta Sub Collector in person.
The letter contains details about a conversation that took place in the chamber with Naveen Babu after the farewell ceremony. However, there is no clarity on the content of the discussion. Earlier, both the CPM leadership in Pathanamthitta and the BJP and Congress had raised concerns against the collector, alleging his involvement in a conspiracy.
Although the collector returned to Kannur after attending the funeral rites of the ADM in Pathanamthitta, he did not come to the office today. Employees at the Civil Station have decided to boycott him, regardless of whether he comes to the Collectorate. Given the potential for protests, heavy security has been arranged in Kannur.
Meanwhile, Kannur Collector Arun K. Vijayan, who is facing serious allegations related to the death of the ADM, has approached senior officials regarding a transfer. However, he has submitted a request to remain in Kannur for the time being. The collector’s move is seen as a precautionary measure, anticipating that the staff at the Kannur Collectorate, angry over the ADM’s death, might turn against him.
