Khushbu, actress and BJP leader, has responded to the rumors about her contesting against Priyanka Gandhi in Wayanad. Khushbu clarified that the reports are just speculation and baseless. She stated that the party has not approached her regarding contesting in Wayanad, nor has any discussion on the matter taken place.
“These are just rumors at the moment, but if the party asks, I will contest,” she said, adding that she is obligated to follow the party’s decision.
Meanwhile, CPI candidate Satyan Mokeri will contest against Priyanka Gandhi in Wayanad. Wayanad, a traditional UDF stronghold since its formation, saw Satyan Mokeri give a tough fight to MI Shanavas in 2014.
Shanavas won by a margin of 20,000 votes. CPI still believes that if PV Anwar had not secured over 30,000 votes, the constituency would have shifted to their side. The largest number of votes ever secured by an LDF candidate in Wayanad’s history was by Satyan Mokeri.
