Air force helicopter reached the disaster ground in Wayanad. The Air Force helicopter landed in Mundakai, and the Air Force was the first to reach the actual disaster site. The Army will continue the rescue mission even at night. The team consists of trained soldiers who carry out the mission in any difficult way.
The injured are shifted to the hospital. Death toll rises to 108 in massive landslide at Meppadi Mundakai. More than 100 people were injured. Many of those undergoing treatment are in critical condition. A team of NDRF and Army crossed the river and reached Mundake. If it was rain that caused the crisis till now, now the heavy fog is making the vision disappear. This puts rescue operations in jeopardy.
New updates are coming out that the army has crossed the river to carry out rescue operations in Mundakai where the landslide occurred. After several hours of landslides and floods, the mission team comprising the Army and NDRF crossed the river and reached Mundakai. It is reported that around 100 people trapped in the disaster area were found in Mundakai. An attempt is being made to rescue them by tying a rope over the river.
The Chief Minister informed that 34 bodies have been identified and 18 bodies have been released. 128 people are injured and undergoing treatment. A team of NDRF and army crossed the river and reached Mundakai. District Collectors have announced holidays for educational institutions. Tomorrow is a holiday for educational institutions in Kasaragod, Pathanamthitta, Thrissur, Kannur and Malappuram districts.
