Wayanad: Tamil Nadu’s helping hand for Kerala. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin announced financial assistance of Rs.5 crores. A special team led by Malayali IAS officers Dr. GS Sameeran and Johnny Tom Varghese will reach Wayanad to coordinate relief and rescue operations.
They will be accompanied by rescue workers and health workers including expert doctors. The team will also bring essential items to Wayanad. MK Stalin said that he is ready to provide the vehicles and people required for the rescue operation. Chief Minister MK Stalin spoke to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on phone and promised all support.
The death toll in Wayanad landslides has reached 83. In the meantime, it is suspected that another landslide occurred in Churalmala. 200 members of the army reached the disaster area. More systems will be delivered. 330 feet high temporary bridge will be delivered. A control room will be opened at the Kozhikode army camp to coordinate rescue operations. More army will arrive from Thiruvananthapuram.
