The government has approved the Vigilance inquiry report that absolves ADGP M.R. Ajith Kumar in the illegal wealth acquisition case. The “clean chit” was granted after the Chief Minister signed the Vigilance report the other day.
The investigation, conducted by the Vigilance special unit, found Ajith Kumar not guilty in the illegal wealth acquisition case. The probe was initiated based on a complaint filed by MLA P.V. Anwar. The allegations raised by Anwar included illegally purchasing a flat and having links with gold smuggling rackets. However, the Vigilance special unit’s report stated that there was no evidence to support any of the allegations made by Anwar.
The report was approved by Vigilance Director Yogesh Gupta and then submitted to the government. The Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan, who also oversees the Home Department, gave the final approval.
