A 21-year-old youth from Aluva, Aqib Hanan, has been arrested by Kochi Cyber Police for circulating the pirated version of the movie Marco, which stars Unni Mukundan in the lead role. The pirated copy of the film was shared on social media platforms, leading to a complaint from the film’s producer, Mohammad Sherif.
The complaint alleges that the pirated version of the movie was widely distributed via Telegram groups, causing significant financial losses to the filmmakers. Marco, which was released on Christmas in five languages, has been performing well at the box office and continues to be screened.
The film has garnered praise for its high level of craftsmanship, with many commenting that the director and his team have produced scenes in a way not previously seen in Malayalam cinema. Despite being an ‘A’ certified film, it has been well-received by family audiences. The music of Marco composed by Ravi Basrur, who is known for his work on massive films like KGF and Salaar, has also attracted significant attention. Sony Music acquired the music rights for the movie. Reports indicate that both young audiences and families have been flocking to theaters to watch Marco, contributing to its impressive box office collection.
