Drishyam was Malayalam cinema’s first film to cross the ₹50 crore mark and became a benchmark for commercial success in the industry. When Drishyam 2 was released on OTT, it received widespread acclaim. Now, the much-awaited Drishyam 3 has been officially announced by lead actor Mohanlal.
Earlier, Mohanlal had revealed in an interview that people were constantly asking about Drishyam 3. However, he noted that making a sequel is not an easy task. “It is a huge responsibility. Unlike making a new film, continuing a sequel is a big challenge. People will compare it with the first and second parts. Now that Drishyam 3 has been announced, the comparisons will continue,” Mohanlal said. Finally, the third installment of Drishyam has been confirmed. The film is directed by Jeethu Joseph.
Apart from Mohanlal in the role of Georgekutty, Drishyam featured Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil, Asha Sharath, Irshad, Roshan Basheer, Aneesh G Menon, Kunchan, Kozhikode Narayanan Nair, P Sreekumar, Shobha Mohan, Kalabhavan Rahman, Kalabhavan Hanif, Balaji Sharma, Sony G Solomon, Pradeep Chandran, Arun S, and Antony Perumbavoor. Most of these actors returned for the second part, and the screenplay for both films was written by Jeethu Joseph.
