Boby Chemmanur to Remain in Jail; High Court to Consider Bail Plea on Tuesday

Boby Chemmanur’s bail plea has been postponed to Tuesday. The High Court rejected the urgency in the plea, ruling that the matter did not require immediate attention, despite Boby’s lawyer, Raman Pillai, arguing for an urgent hearing today.

Raman Pillai, a senior lawyer known for handling high-profile cases, including the Dileep case, appeared on Boby Chemmanur’s behalf. He assured the court that Boby would never engage in any further harassment or inappropriate comments against the actress.

There are indications that the Director General of Prosecution will appear in the case. The government is approaching this case with great seriousness, mirroring the careful stance taken in the Dileep case. Both the government and the police are showing strong opposition to Boby Chemmanur. The outcome of this legal battle remains to be seen.

The court has directed the government and the police to clarify their stance on the matter by Tuesday. The court also remarked that Boby should refrain from making such statements in public spaces.

In his bail plea, Boby Chemmanur argued that the actress’s complaint was made to seek publicity. He claimed that the complaint was posted on social media with this intent, relating to an incident from June of the previous year. He also mentioned a long-standing relationship with the actress, noting that she had inaugurated three of his jewelry stores.

Boby maintained that he had done nothing wrong and emphasized his reputation as a respected, popular businessman. Currently, Boby Chemmanur remains in judicial custody at Kakkanad District Jail. His lawyers are actively working to secure his release as soon as possible, approaching the High Court for a speedy resolution.
