Body Found in Shirur, Police to Conduct DNA Test for Identification

One more body was recovered from Shirur in Karnataka. It is not clear who the decomposed body belongs to. Ishwar Malpa, a diving expert, informed about the discovery of the body. The body was found in Akanashini Bada area.

The body found in a decomposed state is reported to be that of a man. A fisherman was missing in this area. At the same time, the family has requested the district administration to conduct a DNA test to confirm whether it belongs to Kozhikode native Arjun, who died in the landslide.

Arjun’s brother’s DNA sample was collected earlier. The police have gone to the place where the body was found. The family of the missing fisherman also needs to confirm the body. DNA testing is only done after the preliminary test is done. There is information that the net is stuck on the leg of the dead body.

The search for Arjun, who went missing in the landslide, was going on in Shirur region. The search was called off a few days ago. The district administration has informed that there is no situation for a person to go down to the river Gangavali to check the strong current. Ishwar Malpa, a fisherman, said that he was ready to go down to Swamedhaya river, but the district administration denied permission. On the 26th of last month, with the help of the Navy, they tried to land in the Malpa River three times. During this time the rope broke and floated away.
