Kochi: Another bomb threat has been reported at Nedumbassery Airport. A thorough security check was conducted on a flight that arrived from Delhi to Nedumbassery following the threat. The bomb squad carried out inspections on the flight, which landed in Kochi at 4 p.m.
Meanwhile, India is seeking assistance from international agencies to investigate the recurring bomb threats faced by flights. This move follows phone calls originating from abroad. Yesterday alone, 50 flights, including one from Kozhikode to Dammam, received bomb threats.
Since October 14, nearly 350 flights across the country have received bomb threats. So far, two people have been arrested in connection with these incidents. However, despite the threat messages coming from foreign sources, authorities have been unable to trace the origin or apprehend all suspects involved. In light of this, agencies, including the Intelligence Bureau (IB), have sought assistance from foreign counterparts.
