Voting was halted in Wayanad and Chelakkara due to malfunctions in voting machines. Voting was interrupted at booth 117 in Wayanad after just two people cast their ballots. In Chelakkara, technical issues emerged at booth 116 in Pampady School, Thiruvilwamala Panchayat, where BJP candidate K. Balakrishnan was scheduled to vote. The machine displayed “Invalid” after the first vote.
Two voting machines also failed in the Thiruvambady constituency. At booth 86 in Poovaramthode, Koodaranji Panchayat, voting had yet to begin and was expected to resume by 8 a.m. At booth 117 in Agasthyamuzhi, voting resumed after the machine’s battery was replaced following a glitch after two votes. A similar issue arose at booth 31 in Cheruthuruthi.
