The excise officials who filed a case against Kayamkulam MLA U Pratibha’s son have been asked to appear by their superiors. The two officials who registered a cannabis case against Kaniv have been asked to appear at the Thiruvananthapuram Excise Commissioner’s office. The action was taken on a complaint filed by Pratibha.
All the officials who took the son into custody were questioned the other day. Following this, two people were summoned. Kuttanad Excise CI Jayaraj and Range Inspector Anilkumar were asked to appear. The authorities will seek an explanation from them today.
An excise case was filed against Kaniv for possession of ganja on December 28. Kaniv was using ganja with his friends near the Thakazhi bridge. The excise team reached the spot after receiving a tip-off. When Kaniv was searched, ganja was recovered. With this, the nine-member gang was arrested. They were released on station bail that same night.
