Maha Kumbh Mela: Case filed against 140 influencers for spreading misleading content

Uttar Pradesh Police has registered a case against 140 social media influencers for spreading misleading content related to the Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj. DIG Vaibhav Krishna confirmed that 13 FIRs have been registered in this regard. He also said that the police have made all necessary arrangements for the Maha Shivaratri festival scheduled to be held on February 26.

Vaibhav Krishna said that around 13 FIRs have been registered for spreading misleading content related to the Mahakumbh Mela. He also informed that around one crore people will take holy dip in the Kumbh Mela today. “All preparations for Shivaratri have been completed. Steps have been taken to avoid traffic congestion in the area. All arrangements will be made smoothly. No matter how big the crowd is, we are fully prepared,” he said.

Devotees are expected to flock to the Kumbh Mela on Mahashivratri. According to the information department of the Uttar Pradesh government, about 8.773 million people have taken holy dip till Sunday. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that 620 million devotees have come to participate in the Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj.
