Kottayam: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has submitted the first chargesheet in a case registered based on testimony from the Hema Committee report. The case is rooted in a complaint by a Kollam-based makeup artist. The chargesheet was filed at the Kanjirappally court against makeup manager Sajeev. The Ponkunam police in Kottayam had registered the case against him.
The incident pertains to 2014, where the woman alleged sexual harassment during a film shoot. Initially hesitant to lodge a complaint, she filed it later following intervention from the High Court. Details of the chargesheet remain undisclosed. This case is one of 50 cases initiated based on testimonies from the Hema Committee report.
Meanwhile, the State Information Commission has formed a special three-member bench to review complaints and appeals related to the Hema Committee report. Headed by the Chief Information Commissioner, the bench includes two Information Commissioners. It will examine previously filed and new appeals associated with the report.
