In the ongoing debate regarding the tomb of Neyyattinkara Gopan Swamy, Advocate N.G. Gireeshan, representing the Lawyer’s Coordination Committee, expressed his support for the family during an interview with Karma News. He described the family as deeply united in their spiritual beliefs, saying, “Such a family, completely committed to divine matters, is rare to find. Their innocence is evident from my interaction with them. The children are well-versed in temple rituals, and their actions inspire support.”
Gireeshan criticized the police’s decision to register a case under the claim of “missing evidence” related to the tomb, calling it a significant error. He further stated, “If a post-mortem is conducted, the sanctity of the tomb may be compromised. The family unanimously asserts that the deceased has attained spiritual liberation through the tomb, and so far, there has been no suspicion or doubt from the relatives. They have cooperated fully and credibly in the investigation.”
He also raised concerns over the insistence on immediate demolition of the tomb, stating, “Such actions only escalate tensions unnecessarily.”
