Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said that stern action will be taken against those who fabricate and spread fake news related to the COVID epidemic. The CM said action would be taken under the Indian Penal Code, IT Act, and the Kerala Infectious Diseases Act.
Misinformation is being spread on social media to confuse the people. In this situation, all social media accounts will be monitored 24 hours a day by the Kerala Police’s Hi-Tech Crime Inquiry Cell and Cyber Dome, he said.
