Cloudburst in Tehri Garhwal area of Uttarakhand. Rivers Bal Ganga and Dharam Ganga overflowed and flooded houses in the area. And the fields were flooded. There are also reports of flooding in several ashrams in Gangotri. It is reported that the huts of the monks were washed away.
Roads and bridges collapse. Road traffic to many parts of the state has come to a complete standstill. There was heavy rain in areas like Jakhana, Toli and Genwali around midnight yesterday. After this there was a flood in the Bal Ganga. District Magistrate Mayur Dixit said that fields and houses along the road were submerged.
Officials said some shops in the villages were also damaged in the floods. There were no casualties as residents of houses near the river bank quickly moved to safer places.
