Criminals Won’t Be Tolerated in Kerala Police: 108 Officers Dismissed from Service, Says Chief Minister

Thiruvananthapuram: Even as the Kerala Police is making strides in ensuring people-friendly service, a few officers are engaging in activities that tarnish the credibility of the force. Khya Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that criminals will not be tolerated in Kerala Police. The government has taken strong measures to phase out such officers with criminal scents from the force.

Good law and order enforcement, excellence in detecting and preventing crimes, ability to provide public service using modern technology, and zeal in preventing the spread of drugs are all the characteristics of Kerala Police today. A marked change in this level is visible in the Kerala Police today.

Cases are registered against all officials involved in criminal cases and action is taken as per criminal law and departmental action is being taken. Punitive measures are taken based on the seriousness of the crimes.

Thus, 108 officers have been removed from service in the last 8 years after completing the procedures. The chief minister also said that the actions against various ranks of officials are continuing. Minister Veena George responded to Anwar Sadat’s call for attention on behalf of the Chief Minister.
