Delays in welfare pension distribution will affect the Lok Sabha elections,CPI

Thiruvananthapuram: CPI raised criticism in the Left Front meeting for not providing welfare pension. The CPI raised the criticism in a meeting held to review the Lok Sabha election campaign. The CPI has openly said that seven months pension is due and this will be a setback in the campaign.

Party workers are not able to defend the protests of common people. There is no propaganda against the central government in the matter. Therefore, CPI State Secretary Benoy Vishwam said that at least two months of pension should be distributed before the elections.

The NCP pointed out that wildlife encroachment is becoming a big issue in the election campaign. The Chief Minister suggested that the Central Forest Act is the problem and a campaign should be made pointing this out. Killing of wildlife is restricted under Central Act. The chief minister explained the things that the state can do, including the decisions of the cabinet meeting.
