Documents in the Abhimanyu murder case are missing, including the charge sheet

Kochi: Documents in the murder case of SFI leader Abhimanyu have gone missing from the Ernakulam Sessions Court. Important documents including the charge sheet submitted to the court and the post-mortem were missing. The Sessions Judge informed the High Court about this in December. The High Court directed to find the documents.

The charge sheet was filed on September 26, 2018. Abhimanyu died on July 2, 2018 following a clash between SFI-Campus Front activists over graffiti in Maharajas College.

According to the charge sheet, Popular Front (PFI) terrorists from outside came to the campus with weapons and stabbed Abhimanyu to death. Sahal Hamza (25) of Nettur Mekat stabbed Abhimanyu. In the notification issued by the central government banning the Popular Front, the Abhimanyu murder case was included among the crimes that led to the ban. There are a total of 26 accused and 125 witnesses in the case.
