Due to staff mass leave, over 70 services have been canceled by Air India

New Delhi: Passengers are protesting at airports in Kerala against the cancellation of Air India Express flights without warning. More than 70 Air India Express services have been canceled after employees took mass leave without warning. More than 300 senior employees took sick leave without warning. Due to this, around 79 domestic and international flights have been cancelled.

It is reported that the crisis was caused by the protest of the employees. The mobile phones of the employees who have taken collective leave are switched off. Air India Express sources said that efforts are on to resolve the issue.

The company has also stated that those whose journeys are canceled due to flight cancellations will be refunded in full or will be provided with alternative travel arrangements. Meanwhile, many people have expressed their anger and frustration on social media following the unexpected cancellation of flights.

Those who were supposed to start work on Thursday, including those whose visas were cancelled, were on this flight. Some canceled their tickets and bought Indigo tickets by spending around 40,000 rupees. Some passengers said that they did not get even a drop of water to drink and were lucky to get only bread to eat. More than 100 people were stuck at the airports at midnight.

Air India Express flights scheduled to reach Kochi today are also among those cancelled. Those from Sharjah, Muscat, Dammam and Bahrain were cancelled. About 30 flights operate from UAE to India. The company explains that the cabin crew’s strike is illegal. The airline also stated that refund or alternative travel arrangements have been made for the passengers.
