Thiruvananthapuram: Election Commission notice on Kerala government’s decision to withdraw CAA protest cases The notice says that an explanation should be provided as soon as possible as to whether the cases were withdrawn due to violation of the election rules.
The government should give an explanation on Saturday. The Chief Minister had said the other day that the cases related to the CAA protests in the state would be withdrawn. Muslim organizations have demanded that the cases be withdrawn.
The Chief Minister said that out of 835 cases taken, 629 non-serious cases will be withdrawn. The state BJP also came out against the decision to withdraw the case.
