Embezzling money from the temple, the CITU leader was suspended 

Kannur: CITU leader suspended for embezzling money from temple. Mohana Chandran, Executive Officer of Velam Ganapati Temple in Kannur Mayyil, was suspended.

On 22 last month, the Velam Ganesha temple treasures were opened and counted. The action of the Malabar Devaswom Board came after it was discovered that he had stolen the money while opening the treasury and counting. Mohana Chandran is the state committee member of Devaswom Employees Union (CITU).

Executive Officer Mohana Chandran put the money in the pant’s pocket while counting the money received as a token. On the 20th of this month, the traditional trustee had filed a complaint with the Devaswom Board. The officer who supervised the counting also submitted a report demanding action against the officer.

The board will further investigate the money laundering. Mohana Chandran is a state committee member of the Malabar Devaswom Employees Union, an organization of Devaswom employees under CITU. He is also the Taliparam area secretary of the organization.
