Exalogic-CMRL Deal: Delhi High Court to Hear Petition Today

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court will today hear the petition against the investigation into the financial transactions between Exalogic, the company owned by the Chief Minister’s daughter Veena, and the mineral sand company CMRL. CMRL has approached the court challenging the SFIO (Serious Fraud Investigation Office) probe. The petition will be heard by the bench of Justice Subramonium Prasad.

It was the same bench of Justice Subramonium Prasad that earlier considered CMRL’s initial petition questioning the SFIO investigation. At that time, CMRL had sought a stay on the probe, but the bench was not inclined to grant one.

During the previous hearing, senior advocate Kapil Sibal, representing CMRL, had informed another bench that the SFIO had assured the court it would not submit the investigation report unless a stay was granted. Following this, the case was referred back to Justice Subramonium Prasad’s bench. The court’s stance on the petition today will be crucial.
