Thiruvananthapuram: Vizhinjam International Port is reaching its full potential. It is reported that the first ship will anchor at Vizhinjam by tonight. The berthing of the ship will take place tomorrow morning. A huge ship with 2000 containers arrives first. San Fernando, the chartered mothership of Meskin, the world’s second largest shipping company, will be the first to arrive at Vizhinjam.
The cargo ship will arrive as part of a trial run. The ship will reach the open sea at midnight tonight. The ship will be welcomed on the 12th under the leadership of the Chief Minister. After berthing the whole ship will rest tomorrow. A grand reception has been arranged on 12th at 10 am.
Tug boats will give water salute. The ship will be welcomed by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Union Ports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Adani Port authorities and Whistle authorities. Thiruvananthapuram MPs and MLAs will attend the function.
The entire cargo of the ship will be unloaded at the port and the ship will be turned around on the same day. Feeder ships arrive and take cargo to other ports.
