Five deaths reported in Kerala due to heavy rainfall, Rains to continue

Thiruvananthapuram: Rains wreak havoc in the state. Thiruvananthapuram, Alappuzha, Kottayam and Ernakulam districts were hit by rain. Landslides and traffic disruptions occurred at many places on Tuesday. Houses destroyed in landslides in Kottayam. Five deaths were also reported in the state in Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Thiruvananthapuram and Kasaragod districts.

Heavy rains lashed various areas of Kottayam and Alappuzha districts since Tuesday morning. A native of Vaikom died after his boat overturned in Vembanatukayal. The deceased is Sadanandan (57) of Chemb Kishakekattambally. The accident was in the copper showing area of ​​Vembanatukayal. While pulling the net from the boat, Sadanandan fell into the lake due to strong wind.

One person died in an accident where a tree fell in Mavelikara. Arvind, a native of Mavelikara, died. A coconut fell on Arvind’s body as he was standing at the door of the house. The accident happened on Tuesday morning.
