Five killed in gas tanker-car accident in kannur

Five people died in a car accident at Kannur Cherukunni. The accident was caused by a collision between a gas tanker and a Swift car. The deceased have been identified as Padmakumar (59), a resident of Kasaragod Kalichanatukkam Shastam Para, Krishnan (65), a resident of Karivellur Puttur, daughter Ajitha (35), husband Sudhakaran (49) of Churikat Kamdamate, and Ajitha’s brother’s son Akash (9).

The accident took place when a lorry carrying a gas cylinder collided with a car carrying a family including women and children. Five people who died were car passengers. All died instantly. It was too late to break the car and take them out. The dead bodies are kept at Pariyaram Medical College. The drivers of both the lorries which caused the accident were taken into custody by the police.
