Kalpetta: Minister K. Rajan reported that the Wayanad District Collector has sought an explanation from the District Medical Officer (DMO) regarding a worm found in a food kit distributed to wayand landslide victims. He clarified that the rice provided by the Revenue Department to each panchayat was verified and had no issues, and that no other panchayats faced similar complaints apart from Meppadi.
The Minister raised concerns about the delay in distributing supplies, questioning why these food items, received two months ago, were not distributed earlier and if the upcoming elections were a factor. He also questioned the presence of branded kits, urging against using disaster victims for political gain. Minister Rajan expects the controversy to settle post-election.
