Pathanamthitta: Naveen Babu body was brought to Pathanamthitta yesterday evening, and public viewing is ongoing at the collectorate. Many from the political and social spheres, including colleagues and friends, have come to pay their last respects to Naveen Babu. Most were unable to hold back their tears as they stood close to his physical remains.
ADM Naveen Babu was found dead at his residence shortly after allegations of corruption were raised against Kannur District Panchayat President P.P. Divya. Naveen’s funeral will take place at 2 PM at his home compound in Malayalappuzha. Colleagues testify that Naveen would never have engaged in such corrupt practices. He was supposed to take over as ADM in Pathanamthitta, but he returned as a lifeless body. Naveen belonged to a party family in Pathanamthitta, which attests that he was never corrupt. With just seven months remaining before his retirement, he had relocated to Pathanamthitta driven by a desire to work in his hometown.
Naveen Babu began his career as an LD clerk at the age of 19. He was known for being soft-spoken and for dealing with everyone amicably. Everyone has only good things to say about him. Former Collector of Pathanamthitta P.B. Nooh remembered Naveen Babu with a post on Facebook, saying, “You deserved an even better farewell.”
